WasteNot Saks was started by a mom of two young boys in 2009 when she realized how much waste she was generating every day to pack lunches and snacks for school and work.  She first tried having everyone bring home their plastic bags to wash and reuse, but it just did not happen.  She then pulled out her trusty sewing machine and made reusable sandwich and snack bags for her family with some favorite fabrics.  To her delight the bags became an instant hit and WasteNot Saks was born.  More than 1 year later everyone still uses the original bags and have helped to save 1000's of non-biodegradable plastic ziptop bags from entering the ecosystem.
